My brother and I are supposed to collect our Edusave Scholarships(cheques $$$)today. My brother was in the first session and supposed to be seated by 2.15pm. Anyway,we reached there at about 2.00pm as registration was supposed to start at 1.30pm. The hall was three quarter full by the time my brother went in with my father. So all the good boys and girls were seated in the multipurpose hall of Tampines Central CC by 2.30pm. Good boys and girls, right? But,it was just the beginning of a long...long... wait.
3.00pm
Hey! Where is the Guest-Of-Honour? You see, without him, not one of these good boys and girls can get their cheques ($$$), get it?
Wait...Wait...Wait in the hot and humid air-conditioned hall overflowed with impatient boys and girls and their extremely displeased parents who had been standing since 2.00pm. While the first batch was waiting inside the hall, the second batch of good boys and girls have all arrived and started to register.
Wait...Wait...Wait....
3.15pm.
Finally! Finally! Here comes the great Guest-Of-Honour. Meantime,the outside of the hall was overflowed with the second batch of students and their parents. My mother and I were among this group. You see,we were told to reach there by 3.15pm. So you can imagine the huge crowd of hundreds of students an their super patient parents standing outside the hall in the hot sultry afternoon waiting for the ceremony to start for the first batch!
Wait...Wait...Wait...
Finally,it was my beloved brother's turn! Here he goes....Walk calmly up the stage, smile,shake hands, take photo, then walk calmly down and back to his seat. You see, my brother is such a professional. He has been doing this kind of thing, sometimes twice per year since Primary 1. So no need to rehearse at all, he can do it like clockwork. What a great brother!
Brother, I sure am proud of you.
Wait...Wait...Wait...
Meantime, the third batch has started to arrive! Oh my! The first batch was not done yet! The second batch was still waiting super super super patiently outside the hall and the third batch has start to register!
So you can imagine how packed the place really was!

Wow, the first batch was finally streaming out.
Wait...Wait...Wait...
Finally all cleared! My turn to go in! So all the good teenagers and their super super patient parents started to stream in. Remember, my mother and I have been STANDING from 2.00pm.
Wait...Wait...Wait...
Hey! Hey! Hey! My turn! My turn to get $$$. At long last!
I am also a professional! Walk up the stage, smile, shake hands, take photos(Big Big Smile), walk down and back to the seat.
Now, I was really really urgent. So excuse me, I need to go to the loo. Hey!
Why So many students(with cheques in hand) also need to go to the loo? Same unimaginative excuse.
Come to think of it, not bad, not bad at all.
Four hundred + Four hundred = Eight hundred for three hours of standing.
